Alfred Mossman Landon, 1887-1987, a prominent Kansas Republican, served as Governor of Kansas from 1933-1937 and ran an unsuccessful campaign for the United States presidency in 1936. This collection includes audiotapes and transcripts of interviews with Governor Landon by Donald R. McCoy and Louis George Griffin from 1975-1976.

Overview This mimeograph copy is comprised of reports and dispatches from correspondents to Time-Life-Fortune News Bureau chief David Hulbard in New York during the first thirty hours following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The reports total 222 pages. In instances where relative military strengths, the extent of damage to Pearl Harbor, or military and naval strategy were reported, such information was deleted. Officials who made "not for attribution" statements had their names obliterated...
